We are a retail recruitment company, operating in the UK and Ireland retail market, placing candidates in jobs within the retail sector.

Our company consists of 2 Directors/Consultants, Barbara Brimelow and Keri Levan.

Retail Jobs UK Ltd. take the privacy of our clients and candidates extremely seriously. We are aware of our responsibility as a recruiter to protect your personal details and to only share details with third parties upon receipt of your explicit consent. All of our systems are protected. The personal information stored once you have registered with us is seen by Barbara Brimelow and Keri Levan, and by the person who maintains our website, who sees it only as needed to keep the site running and secure.

Retail Jobs UK will never share our candidates' personal details or Curriculum Vitae with a third party without the candidate's explicit consent to be submitted for a particular job vacancy.

Retail Jobs UK receive your personal data when you apply directly for an advertised role via our website — either when you apply directly to be a candidate from a job search, upload your CV to our website, or via a third party when you respond to a job advert placed by Retail Jobs UK on a job board on behalf of a third party client.

When you register with Retail Jobs UK you must consent to us collecting and storing your personal information. You will not be able to submit your CV and details to Retail Jobs UK without consenting to us storing your personal data. This may include but is not restricted to your name, contact details, email address, address, employment history, education and area/sector in which you wish to work.

Retail Jobs UK will never share personal information or a Curriculum Vitae with a third party without your explicit consent.

If you do not consent to Retail Jobs UK storing your personal data (in the form of your CV and email address) so that we can contact you in the future regarding relevant opportunities, please do not submit your Curriculum Vitae to Retail Jobs UK.

We keep your registration — your details, your CV and your login for the candidate portal — for six months from the day you register.

Before the six months are up we email you, a month beforehand and again as the date gets closer, with a link that keeps your details for six more months from the day you use it. You can do that each time we write, so you can stay on our books for as long as you would like to hear from us.

If you don't use the link, we delete your details, your CV and your login when the six months are up. We never delete them without having written to you a month beforehand: if our reminders haven't gone out in time, we wait until they have. You can also ask us to delete them sooner at any time; see Request to Have Personal Data Deleted below.

Messages sent to us through the contact form on our website are deleted six months after they are sent.

A cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the user's device by the web browser. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, keep data on your device in the same way and are treated the same in this policy.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site — which pages are popular, how people arrive here, and whether the site is working well for them. It sets cookies to do this, but only once you have given consent: the banner shown on your first visit lets you accept or reject it, and it stays off until you accept. Rejecting it, or simply not deciding, means no analytics cookies are set.

You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer, which lets you withdraw consent as easily as you gave it.

The only other thing we store on your device is a sign-in token, and only if you log in — either to the candidate portal or to an administrator account. It is held in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, it keeps you signed in as you move between pages, and it is removed when you sign out. It is strictly necessary for a service you have asked for, so it is exempt from the requirement to obtain consent. Visitors who simply browse the site without accepting analytics and without logging in have nothing stored on their device.

You can also clear any of this at any time through your browser's settings for site data. Doing so signs you out and resets your cookie consent choice.

Candidates have the right to ask for access to their personal information. Once Retail Jobs UK have verified your identity we will provide the information you requested within 30 days.

We may, on occasion, contact candidates stored in our database who are not actively looking for a new role. When you first apply for a job using our website or upload your CV you will be asked to tick a box indicating that you give your consent to Retail Jobs UK storing the personal data you have provided. By providing consent to our storage of your personal data you are also providing consent to us contacting you in the future if we receive details of a role which we feel matches your background or career aspirations.

As you progress through your career, you may wish to update your details or the CV that you have given us permission to keep in our records. You can do this yourself at any time: log in and open My details, where you can change your details and upload a new CV. If you would rather, email your new CV to Retail Jobs UK and we will update your record within 30 days of receipt.

Every reminder email we send about your registration has a link to delete your details straight away: your details, your CV and your login. You can also ask us by emailing keri@retailjobsuk.net or barbara@retailjobsuk.net, and we will delete your personal record within 30 days of receiving your request.

However, transmission cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure or error-free as information could be intercepted, corrupted, lost, destroyed, arrive late or be incomplete due to reasons beyond our control. The company cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage arising from the use of this service.
